[기타등등] 텍사스 사막의 프라다 매장.

This abandoned Prada store with solar panels on the roof is located on
a desolate highway 90 in West Texas.
It was built as a piece of art and promotional stunt by Scandinavian designers Michael Elmgreen
and Ingar Dragset who spent over $80,000 on it.
The solar panels generated electricity during the day and
at night this boutique’s show-window shined like a rainbow.
Sadly, this project didn’t survive the time,
because its walls were soon painted with graffiti, windows were broken and shoes were stolen.
The funniest thing is that those shoes could only suit people with disabilities,
because all of them were “right” foot shoes.

대충 의역 :
텍사스 서부의 황량한 90번 고속도로를 달리다 보면
지붕에 태양열 집광판이 달려있는 프라다 매장이 버려져 있다.
스칸디나비아의 디자이너 마이클 엘름그린과 잉거 드렉셋이 8만 달러를 들여
판촉 및 예술(예술활동)의 일부로 지어놓았는데,

낮엔 집광판으로 태양열을 모아 전기를 만들고 밤엔 쇼윈도우가 무지개 처럼 빛난다.
슬프게도 이 프로젝트는 잠깐동안 살아남았는데(버텼는데?),
벽엔 그래피티가 칠해지고, 창문은 깨지고, 신발들은 도난당했다.

재밌는건 훔쳐간 신발은 장애를 가진 사람들이 아니면 신을 수 없는 신발이라는거다.
진열된 신발은 전부 오른쪽만 있었기 때문에..


..사막 한가운데에 명품 매장이라니..
