어릴 때부터 우주견 라이카 이야기를 정말 싫어했다.
그 얘기를 들으면 우주에 대한 호기심을 느낀 게 아니라
쓸쓸하게 우주선 안에서 죽어간 강아지가 떠올랐기 때문이다.
물론 라이카는 우주선이 발사되고 3시간 남짓해 바로 죽었지만
자기에겐 아무 의미없는 무언가를 위해 아무것도 모른 채,
허무하게 죽은 그 개가 항상 슬펐다.

그래서인지 이상하게도
이 노래를 들으면 무지 슬프다.

듣고 있다가
우리 강아지, 쿠마로 형제들을 꼭 안아주었다.
